Patent Board Won’t Review Sony Patent, Rejects Invalidity Allegation

(October 11, 2016, 2:35 PM EDT) -- ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Allegations by several petitioners that a bi-directional communications system patent owned by Sony Corp. is invalid pursuant to 35 U.S. Code Section 103 were turned away Oct. 7 by the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (ARRIS International PLC, et al. v. Sony Corporation, No. IPR2016-00828, PTAB).
