Indictments Of 2 Pharmacists In Fungal Meningitis Outbreak Dismissed As ‘Incidental’

Mealey's (October 5, 2016, 12:05 PM EDT) -- BOSTON — A Massachusetts federal judge on Oct. 4 dismissed indictments against two pharmacists in the New England Compounding Center (NECC) fungal meningitis outbreak because the judge said their role in checking shipments of two compounded drugs marked for fictitious patients was incidental to alleged violations of the Food, Drug and Cosmetics Act (FDCA) (United States of America v. Kathy S. Chin, et al., No. 14-10363, D. Mass.).
