Manufacturer To U.S. High Court: Cheerleader Uniforms Are Copyright Protected

(September 30, 2016, 9:46 AM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — Two-dimensional graphic designs are eligible for copyright protection, a cheerleader uniform manufacturer argues in a Sept. 14 response brief to the U.S. Supreme Court, further explaining that the protection is not lost when the designs appear on three-dimensional cheerleading uniforms (Star Athletica, LLC v. Varsity Brands, Inc., et al., No. 15-866, U.S. Sup.).
