Mealey's (September 29, 2016, 1:36 PM EDT) -- SAN FRANCISCO — A federal judge in California on Sept. 26 granted an insurer’s motion for summary judgment in an insurance bad faith lawsuit, ruling that the insurer had no duty to defend its insureds in an underlying lawsuit because the claims were barred by a policy exclusion (Sunrise Specialty Co. Inc., et al. v. Scottsdale Insurance Co., No. 16-1461, N.D. Calif.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 131664).
