California Federal Judge Stays Delta Smelt Lawsuit For Agency Consultation

Mealey's (July 15, 2015, 1:00 PM EDT) -- FRESNO, Calif. — A California federal judge on June 15 granted a motion by the United States to stay an environmentalist’s lawsuit so two agencies can consult about whether renewal of water contracts will harm the delta smelt (Natural Resources Defense Council, et al. v. Dirk Kempthorne, et al., No. 05-1207, E.D. Calif.; 2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 78036).
