Federal Government Says Insurance Guarantor’s Case Against It Is Moot

(September 21, 2016, 12:03 PM EDT) -- LOS ANGELES — The United States told a federal court in California on Sept. 12 that California’s insurance guarantor’s case against the government should be dismissed as moot now that the United States has withdrawn its demand for reimbursement of certain workers’ compensation payments (California Insurance Guarantee Association v. Sylvia Mathews Burwell, et al., No. 15-cv-1113, C.D. Calif.).
