Ohio Supreme Court: Parties May Rely On Chain Of Title In Mineral Rights Dispute
(September 19, 2016, 1:48 PM EDT) -- COLUMBUS, Ohio — A divided Ohio Supreme Court on Sept. 15 ruled that the Ohio General Assembly sought to help clear title to dormant mineral interests and to encourage the development of the state’s mineral resources by allowing parties to rely on a record chain to title to them (Hans Michael Corban v. Chesapeake Exploration LLC, et al., No. 2014-0804, Ohio Sup.; 2016 Ohio LEXIS 2377).
