HUD May Not Withhold Housing Voucher Data From FOIA Results, Judge Rules

(September 19, 2016, 10:26 AM EDT) -- DALLAS — A Texas federal judge on Sept. 13 ruled that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development could not withhold certain household-specific housing voucher recipient information from an advocacy group’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, finding that HUD failed to sufficiently establish a privacy interest in the information that would outweigh the public interest in monitoring HUD’s performance of its duties (The Inclusive Communities Project Inc. v.
