New York Federal Judge Dismisses Tax Franchisor From Civil RICO Lawsuit

(September 10, 2016, 7:34 AM EDT) -- CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. — A New York federal judge on Aug. 29 granted a motion to dismiss a corporation that oversees tax service franchisees from a lawsuit alleging fraud and violations of the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, saying there is no evidence that it was responsible for the alleged acts of its franchisees (Marie N.
