Zohydro Maker, Massachusetts Dismiss Company’s Challenge To State’s Opioid Restrictions

(September 8, 2016, 1:23 PM EDT) -- BOSTON — Zohydro maker Zogenix Inc. and Massachusetts on Sept. 7 stipulated to dismissal without prejudice of the company’s federal lawsuit challenging the state’s restrictions of the opioid pain drug (Zogenix, Inc. v. Charles D. Baker, et al., No. 14-11689, D. Mass.).

In 2014, Massachusetts declared a public health emergency due to opioid addiction and deaths. The state enacted regulations that restricted the prescribing of Zohydro because of its potential for addiction.
