California Agency Adopts Criteria For Monitoring Effects Of Fracking On Water

Mealey's (July 10, 2015, 11:57 AM EDT) -- SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The California State Water Resources Control Board (the board) on July 7 announced that it had adopted methods and requirements referred to as model criteria for water-quality monitoring in areas where hydraulic fracturing is performed.

The board issued a press release that said that the new requirements under the model criteria “will improve transparency and reporting about the condition of groundwater near well stimulation operations, providing publicly accessible information for the first time.”
