Private, State Groups Challenge HHS Regulation Defining ‘Sex’ In ACA

(September 6, 2016, 1:41 PM EDT) -- DALLAS — The government is using Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) regulations to force doctors to perform sex change operations, including on children, in contravention of their medical judgment and religious beliefs, religious organizations and several states allege in an Aug. 23 suit (Franciscan Alliance Inc., et al. and State of Texas, et al. v. Sylvia Burwell, et al., No. 16-108, N.D. Texas).
