California Appeals Court Affirms Voiding Of Desalination Contracts

(September 2, 2016, 4:01 PM EDT) -- SAN FRANCISCO — A California appeals panel on Aug. 18 affirmed the voiding of agreements to build a desalination plant, ruling that a public agency is not bound by a 60-day limitation period governing validation actions when it seeks a court ruling on the validity of contracts under a public corruption statute (California-American Water Company v. Marina Coast Water Distrust, et al., No. A145604, Calif. App., 1st Dist., Div. 1; 2016 Cal. App. LEXIS 702).
