California State Court Judge Overrules Most Preemption Demurrers In Essure Cases

Mealey's (August 31, 2016, 11:10 AM EDT) -- OAKLAND, Calif. — A California state court judge on Aug. 1 ruled that most claims by plaintiffs in 11 lawsuits involving the Essure birth control device are not preempted by federal law (Lance v. Bayer Essure Inc., et al., No. RG16809860, et al., Calif. Super., Alameda Co.).
