Louisiana Federal Judge Denies Motion To Return $100,000 Franchise Deposit
(August 26, 2016, 12:50 PM EDT) -- NEW ORLEANS — A Louisiana federal judge in a decision filed Aug. 15 denied a motion for summary judgment filed by a plaintiff seeking return of a $100,000 deposit paid pending the execution of a master franchise agreement because a letter of interest the parties signed does not stipulate if the money is refundable (Touch Holding Co. v. Copeland’s Cheesecake Bistro LLC, No. 15-5711, E.D. La.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 107537).
