New York Federal Judge Finds For Kia Motors In Dealership Dispute

Mealey's (August 25, 2016, 3:05 PM EDT) -- NEW YORK — A New York federal judge on Aug. 22 granted Kia Motors America’s (KMA) motion for summary judgment on claims arising under the New York Franchised Dealer Act and state common law for not considering transfer of Kia dealerships because the plaintiff dealers were subject to termination of their dealership agreements at the time of their proposed transfers (H.B. Automotive Group Inc., et al. v. Kia Motors America, No. 13-CV-4441, S.D. N.Y.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 111917).
