Michigan Federal Magistrate Dismisses Insurance Franchisee’s Unenforceability Argument

Mealey's (August 24, 2016, 1:25 PM EDT) -- ANN ARBOR, Mich. — A Michigan federal magistrate judge on Aug. 19 dismissed all of the counterclaims and defenses of a defendant who allegedly violated the franchise agreements she signed based on her argument that the franchise agreements are unenforceable due to a lack of mutuality (L.A. Insurance Agency Franchising LLC v. Claudia Montes, et al., No. 14-14432, E.D. Mich., Southern Div.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 110573).
