Ohio High Court: Mineral Interests Not Abandoned; Affidavit Establishes Rights
Mealey's (July 2, 2015, 6:38 AM EDT) -- COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Supreme Court on June 18 ruled that a mineral interest holder and parties affiliated with him had preserved those interests despite the fact that a couple had purchased the property under which the mineral interests existed. Consequently, the couple was not entitled to a finding that the interests had been abandoned (Phillip Dodd, et al. v. John William Croskey, et al., No. 2013-1730, Ohio Sup.; 2015 Ohio LEXIS 1542).
