Nigerian Residents: Chevron Should Not Be Permitted To Compel Discovery

Mealey's (August 15, 2016, 9:12 AM EDT) -- SAN FRANCISCO — A group of Nigerian residents who are suing Chevron Corp. for damages related to the explosion of one of its natural gas rigs on Aug. 5 filed a brief opposing the company’s motion seeking to compel the plaintiffs to produce documents that explain its litigation funding to demonstrate the adequacy of the class representative and his counsel (Foster Ogola, et al. v. Chevron Corporation, No. 14-173, N.D. Calif.).
