Agencies Violate Law By Allowing Oil Exploration In Nature Area, Group Says
(August 8, 2016, 10:47 AM EDT) -- FORT MYERS, Fla. — Several environmental advocacy groups on July 27 filed a lawsuit in Florida federal court against the National Park Service (NPS) and other governmental entities, alleging that they violated federal law when they approved “an extensive 3-D seismic geophysical exploration survey” for oil and gas deposits within a nature preserve (Natural Resources Defense Council, et al. v. National Park Service, et al., No. N/A, M.D. Fla.).
