Biometrics Class Complaint Against Snapchat Removed To Federal Court

(July 27, 2016, 12:58 PM EDT) -- LOS ANGELES — Snapchat Inc. on July 14 removed a putative class accusing it of collecting users’ biometric identifiers in violation of Illinois’ Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) from California state court to California federal court pursuant to the Class Action Fairness Act (CAFA) (Jose Luis Martinez, et al. v. Snapchat Inc., No. 2:16-CV-05182, C.D. Calif.).
