Judge Denies Motion To Remand Potentially Consolidated Anthem Suit

Mealey's (June 25, 2015, 4:07 PM EDT) -- SAN DIEGO — Although a California federal judge on June 18 found that he had jurisdiction to consider a plaintiff’s motion to remand his putative class action related to a data breach experienced by Anthem Inc., despite a pending conditional transfer order by the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation (JPMDL), he found that the complaint as presently worded did not merit remand (Steve Wickens v. Blue Cross of California Inc., No. 3:15-cv-00834, S.D. Calif.; 2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 79274).
