California Appeals Court Affirms $8.3M Verdict In DePuy ASR Hip Case

(July 22, 2016, 1:32 PM EDT) -- LOS ANGELES — A California appeals panel on July 21 affirmed an $8.3 million verdict in a DePuy ASR XL metal-on-metal hip case (Sheryl R. Kransky, et al. v. DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc., No. B249576, Calif. App., 2nd Dist., Div. 7).

In 2007, Loren Kransky was implanted with an ASR XL hip implant made by the DePuy Orthopaedics Inc. division of Johnson & Johnson. Afterward, Kransky experienced pain, noises from the hip and falls and began to lose weight and energy.
