D.C. Circuit: Challenge To Land Taking For Casino Foreclosed By Congress
Mealey's (July 15, 2016, 3:15 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — The District of Columbia Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals on July 15 affirmed a federal judge’s ruling that a challenge to the taking of land into trust by the U.S. government so a Michigan Indian tribe can build a casino is barred by a 2014 act removing jurisdiction from the federal courts over any actions relating to the property in question (David Patchak v. Sally Jewell, No. 15-5200, D.C. Cir.).
