Pro-Football Inc. Asks U.S. High Court To Consider Trademark Disparagement

Mealey's (July 15, 2016, 9:41 AM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — Pro-Football Inc. (PFI) filed an amicus curiae brief on June 20, saying that the U.S. Supreme Court should grant the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s petition for writ of certiorari so it can consider whether a mark is disparaging under 15 U.S. Code Section 1052(a) (Section 2[a]) (Michelle K. Lee, Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office v. Simon Shiao Tam, No. 15-1293, U.S. Sup.).
