Judge Issues Ruling In Suit Challenging Amendment Of Tribe’s Constitution
Mealey's (June 24, 2015, 10:59 AM EDT) -- SEATTLE — A federal judge in Washington on May 20 granted partial summary judgment in favor of the defendants in a suit by tribe members challenging a secretarial election to change the Nooksack Indian Tribe of Washington’s constitution, dismissing constitutional claims and a breach of trust claim (Rudy St. Germain, et al. v. U.S. Department of the Interior, et al., No. 13-945, W.D. Wash.; 2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 66066).
