McDonald’s Estimates Pretax Charges For Refranchising Initiative
(July 11, 2016, 11:16 AM EDT) -- OAKBROOK, Ill. — McDonald’s Corp. on July 7 announced that for the quarter ended June 30, the company expects to incur about $235 million in pretax charges relating to the company’s plan to refranchise 4,000 restaurants, general and administrative (G&A) cost initiatives and the relocation of the company’s headquarters from Oakbrook to downtown Chicago.
In a press release, the company said it expects to incur additional strategic charges in connection with these ongoing initiatives.
