Defendants Seek Dismissal Of Groups’ Lawsuit Challenging Federal Water Contracts

(July 11, 2016, 10:36 AM EDT) -- FRESNO, Calif. — The defendants in a federal water contracts lawsuit on June 20 moved to dismiss five new or renewed claims made by three environmental groups, saying there is no live controversy or the claims are barred by the statute of limitations (Natural Resources Defense Council, et al. v. S.M.R. Jewell, et al., No. 05-1207, E.D. Calif.).
