Judge: Insured Failed To Show That Estimate Was Substandard In Bad Faith Suit
Mealey's (July 8, 2016, 1:02 PM EDT) -- PHOENIX — A federal judge in Arizona on July 1 granted an insurer’s motion to dismiss claims in an insurance breach of contract and bad faith lawsuit, ruling that an insured failed to show that the insurer acted in bad faith by providing a substandard estimate of damages pursuant to the terms of a homeowners insurance policy (James Kovacs v. Sentinel Insurance Co. Ltd., No. 16-0964, D. Ariz.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 85997).
