DOJ Denies Twitter’s 1st Amendment Claims Related To Data Collection Disclosure
Mealey's (July 7, 2016, 2:31 PM EDT) -- OAKLAND, Calif. — In an answer filed July 5 in California federal court, the federal government asserts that Twitter Inc. failed to state a claim upon which relief can be granted in its complaint alleging free speech violations in not being permitted to disclose information about its compliance with government-mandated subscriber information collection orders (Twitter Inc. v. Loretta E. Lynch, et al., No. 4:14-cv-04480, N.D. Calif.).
