Alito Jr. in a June 28 dissent portrayed as an “ominous sign” the court’s decision not review a case challenging a Washington state law forbidding pharmacists from refusing to provide contraceptives on religious grounds (Stormans Inc., dba Ralph’s Thriftway, et al. v. John Wiesman, secretary, Washington State Department of Health, No. 15-862, U.S. Sup.).
