$600,000 Wage Settlement Approved; Enhancement Awards Halved

(June 15, 2016, 12:19 PM EDT) -- FRESNO, Calif. — A California federal judge on May 27 granted final approval of a $600,000 settlement ending a wage-and-hour class suit filed by grain facility workers but cut in half the requested enhancement awards for all but one named plaintiff, finding that the $10,000 requested awards were excessive (Jesus Palacios, et al. v. Penny Newman Grain, Inc., et al., No. 14-1804, E.D. Calif.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 70050).
