Group Of Stores, Associations File Suit To Stop New Taxes On Tobacco Products

(June 10, 2016, 12:18 PM EDT) -- CHICAGO — A group of tobacco stores and merchant associations on May 31 filed suit and a motion for an emergency junction against the City of Chicago, hoping to stop the city from imposing a new tax on tobacco products (Iwan Ries & Co., et al. v. City of Chicago, et al. No. 2016-L-050356, Ill. Cir., Cook Co.).
