California Federal Judge Says Disability Benefits Denial Suit Can Move Forward

Mealey's (June 9, 2016, 1:48 PM EDT) -- YOSEMITE, Calif. — A California federal judge on June 2 allowed a complaint against a disability insurer to move forward after determining that the claimant alleged a cognizable claim for denial of benefits against the insurer (Kirkland Swafford v. CIGNA Group Insurance, No. 14-213, E.D. Calif.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 72208).
