Native American Inmates Seek Rehearing Of Failed Supreme Court Petition

(June 8, 2016, 3:58 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — Several Native American prison inmates in Alabama asked the U.S. Supreme Court May 27 to rehear their petition for certiorari in a dispute over the state’s grooming policy for prisoners, saying the petition should be granted based on a Fifth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals decision that was issued the same day the high court denied the inmates’ petition (Ricky Knight, et al. v. Leslie Thompson, et al., No. 15-999, U.S. Sup.; 2016 U.S. S. Ct. Briefs LEXIS 2199).
