Nebraska Judge Dismisses Farmers’ Claims That Their Water Rights Were Taken
(June 8, 2016, 11:00 AM EDT) -- BEAVER CITY, Neb. — A Nebraska state court judge on May 19 entered a new order dismissing with prejudice a two lawsuits by Republic River water users that Nebraska’s failure to regulate groundwater constituted a taking of their water rights (Greg Hill of Furnas County, et al. v. State of Nebraska, et al., Nos. CI14-68 and CI15-80, Neb. Dist., Furnas Co.).
