Colorado Supreme Court: Water Rights Holder Can Decide Which Goes 1st

(June 8, 2016, 9:58 AM EDT) -- DENVER — The Colorado Supreme Court on May 31 reversed a water court ruling and said the owner of senior and junior water rights is entitled to decide which of those rights it wishes to first divert and make absolute (Upper Eagle Regional Water Authority v. Dick Wolfe, et al., No. 2016 CO 42, Colo. Sup.; 2016 Colo. LEXIS 531).
