NLRB: Applying NLRA To Indian Casino Does Not Violate Tribe’s Sovereignty

Mealey's (June 7, 2016, 6:08 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — No review is needed of a Sixth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals finding that the National Labor Relations Board has jurisdiction over an Indian tribe as an employer with respect to its operation of a casino because it was a correct ruling and pending litigation and legislation could decide the issue, the NLRB told the U.S. Supreme Court May 24 (Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort v. National Labor Relations Board, No. 15-1034, U.S. Sup.; 2016 U.S. S. Ct. Briefs LEXIS 2134).
