Pennsylvania High Court To Hear Workers’ Comp Case Involving Franchisor

(May 26, 2016, 10:12 AM EDT) -- HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Supreme Court on May 3 agreed to hear an appeal of a Commonwealth Court decision to determine whether a franchisor may be subject to liability as a statutory employer under Section 302(a) of the state Workers’ Compensation Act (Saladworks LLC, et al. v. Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, et al., No. 52 MAP 2016, Pa. Sup., Middle Dist.).
