California Appellate Panel Says Land Owner Not Responsible For Shooting

Mealey's (May 24, 2016, 11:04 AM EDT) -- SAN DIEGO — A California appellate panel on May 12 affirmed a trial court’s order granting summary judgment in a case brought against the City of San Diego and a fencing company and its owner because the defendants could not have predicted that two people would have been accosted, shot and injured because of a broken fence (Ricky Hasten-Golston, et al. v. City of San Diego, et al., No. D066846, Calif. App., 4th Dist., Div. 1; 2016 Cal. App. Unpub. LEXIS 3507).
