Federal Judge Denies Summary Judgment In Insurance Bad Faith Suit

Mealey's (May 20, 2016, 12:18 PM EDT) -- TAMPA, Fla. — A federal judge in Florida on May 12 denied an insurer’s motion for summary judgment in an insurance bad faith lawsuit, ruling that a genuine issue of material fact exists as to whether the insurer acted in bad faith in its handling of an automobile insurance claim (Manuel A. Gonzalez, et al. v. GEICO General Insurance Co., No. 15-0240, M.D. Fla.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 62967).
