Government Accountability Office: EPA Oversight Of Fracking ‘Needs Improvement’

Mealey's (June 18, 2015, 3:14 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) on July 28, 2014, released a report in which it concluded that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s program to protect underground drinking water sources from injection of fluids associated with oil and gas production needs improvement because the EPA is not conducting two key oversight and enforcement activities.
