Judge: Tribe Fails To Link Termination Of Sewer Services To Race

Mealey's (May 18, 2016, 11:14 AM EDT) -- SEATTLE — An Indian tribe fails to sufficiently allege that a city in Washington intentionally discriminated against the tribe on the basis of race by deciding to stop providing sewer services to the tribe’s casino, a federal judge held May 16, granting a motion to dismiss but giving the tribe the chance to amend its claim (Snoqualmie Indian Tribe v. City of Snoqualmie, et al., No. 15-1936, W.D. Wash.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 64350).
