Zoloft Birth Defect Plaintiffs Appeal Summary Judgment To 3rd Circuit

(May 16, 2016, 11:52 AM EDT) -- PHILADELPHIA — Plaintiffs claiming that the antidepressant Zoloft caused birth defects on May 12 appealed summary judgment entered against them in a multidistrict litigation court for lack general causation expert testimony (In Re: Zoloft, et al., No. 16-2247, 3rd Cir.).

The plaintiffs appealed summary judgment granted by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania to the Third Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.

On April 5, the MDL court granted summary judgment in all but 23 Zoloft birth defect MDL cases.
