Judge Dismisses Unfair Competition Law Claim In Recall Class Action
Mealey's (May 16, 2016, 8:22 AM EDT) -- SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Plaintiffs failed to assert a claim for violation of California's unfair competition law (UCL) against the makers of Cheerios in their lawsuit alleging damages from a recall stemming from misidentified gluten-free products, a California federal judge ruled May 5 (Keri Van Lengen and Deborah Nava, on behalf of themselves and a class of similarly situtated persons v. General Mills, Inc., et al., No. 15-02262, E.D. Calif.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 60091).
