D.C. Circuit Denies Venezuela's Motion For Stay Pending Appeal

(May 13, 2016, 9:23 AM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — The District of Columbia Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals on May 4 denied a request by the Republic of Venezuela for stay pending the appeal of a decision confirming a $740 million award issued for a gold mining company without having to post a supersedeas bond (Gold Reserve Inc. v. Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, No. 1:14-cv-2014, D.C. Cir.).
