Nevada Group: BLM Should Be Stopped From Selling Leases For Hydraulic Fracturing

Mealey's (June 18, 2015, 2:37 PM EDT) -- RENO, Nev. — A Nevada citizens group that opposes hydraulic fracturing on June 27, 2014, filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada seeking to enjoin BLM’s sale of oil leases on grounds that the agency is relying on an “inadequate” environmental impact study that fails to fully consider the detrimental effects fracking will have on the land (Reese River Basin Citizens Against Fracking v. the Bureau of Land Management, No. 14-00338, D.
