Trade Group: California City Ordinance Regulating Fracking Violates Due Process

Mealey's (June 18, 2015, 2:37 PM EDT) -- LOS ANGELES — The Western States Petroleum Association (WSPA) on July 21, 2014, filed a lawsuit in California state court against the City of Compton, Calif., alleging that the city has adopted an unconstitutional ordinance prohibiting hydraulic fracturing and other gas well stimulation treatments within the city’s boundaries or from any site outside the city limits where the subsurface bottom hole is located in the city (Western States Petroleum Association v. City of Compton, et al., No. BC 552272, Calif. Super., Los Angeles Co.).
