Craftsman Country Of Origin UCL Claims Too Broad, California Court Affirms

(May 10, 2016, 4:10 PM EDT) -- LOS ANGELES — The sheer number of products at issue and the fact that not all related advertising indicated that those products were made in the United States makes class certification of unfair competition law (UCL), Business and Professions Code Section 17200, et seq., claims impossible, a California appeals court held April 26 (Guillermo Garcia Santamarina, et al. v. Sears Roebuck & Co., No. B246705, Calif. App., 2nd Dist., Div. 3).
