Judge Allows New Fish Species Claims To Be Added To Federal Water Contract Suit
(May 9, 2016, 1:10 PM EDT) -- FRESNO, Calif. — A California federal judge presiding over an 11-year-old lawsuit over federal water contract renewals and the delta smelt on April 22 allowed the plaintiffs to supplement their complaint to add two species of salmon, saying it will not prejudice any party or unduly delay the litigation (Natural Resources Defense Council, et al. v. Dirk Kempthorne, et al., No. 05-1207, E.D. Calif.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 54353).
